Zirconium teeth, just like the original…

It is easy to get lost among the dental termini and treatments. A layman most probably cannot decide which one is the best solution for his/her dental problem. Maybe one is unable to distinguish between a denture and implant or a zirconium crown and a porcelain bridge. To inform you in detail is an important part of our work.

If you are in need of a denture and the problem can be solved with fixed (cemented) denture, zirconium is the most natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing solution. Zirconium teeth (crowns, bridges) are made of zirconium-dioxide. This is an absolutely metal-free, very hard and antiallergenic material, and so it is the perfect material of such prostheses.

Zirconium crowns and bridges are so strong, that you are able to chew with them as powerfully as they were your originals. Being tougher than the previous metal-based prostheses, only very little own dental material have to be eliminated during the preparation. They are made during computer-aided processes, (CAD/CAM), so the accuracy is higher than in case of any other method. This is the reason why the chances are very low for developing complaints (Gingivitis, cavities) next to the prosthesis.

Zirconium prostheses are penetrable for the light, as in case of the natural denture, (unlike in case of metals). Because of this, they are so similar in colour and structure to the original teeth that only the practiced will notice the difference. The result of all these is that from this material we are able to prepare prostheses that are deceptively similar to the original teeth.
